A Menacing Madman!
Scientific Terror!
The Physics of Fear!
Doctor William Dewitt: highly organized, meticulous; an X-ray and Gamma ray physicist for the War Department, working at a classfied research facility. He should have been a hero…but an experiment he was conducting failed explosively. Blinded and suffering from a myriad of injuries, Dewitt was hospitalized. He would spend months in the hospital, as, against all odds, he slowly recovered.
The research facility was closed by the War Department. Without access to the project’s equipment, Dewitt was left without the means to address his unique condition: as a result of the accident, William Dewitt is going through the slow, painful process of total protonic reversal. The atoms of his body are, one by one ,converting to a reversed polarity version of themselves. He is converting to negative matter.
Dewitt’s condition continues to deteriorate, both physically and mentally. Convalescing at home, he struggles in his personal lab to find a cure — becoming more and more angry, and less able to control himself. His wife leaves him for her own safety, taking their daughter with her, and for Dewitt, this is the last straw. He vows to get his family back — and to get revenge against the government which has abandoned him to his fate!
Can the heroes stop a man who has become a shimmering humanoid form of solid darkness, with access to fantastic abilities brought about by his conversion into The Negative Man? Can they thwart his violent plans against the government, and, perhaps, conceive of a way to cure him of his affliction?
This Pulp Villains release for Thrilling Tales 3rd edition gives full details on Doctor William Dewitt and provides several adventure hooks for pulp campaign Game Masters to use in their games.
